Ms Rebecca Ong

Genomics Technician

Rebecca Ong is a Neuroscience PhD candidate at the University of Western Australia and the Perron Institute for Neurological and Translational Sciences. Having recently submitted her thesis, her PhD research centred around the use of next generation sequencing techniques to characterise the underlying effects of non-invasive brain stimulation treatments on the cells of our brain as we age.

Rebecca has experience performing a range of molecular and cellular biology techniques, as well as expertise in the analysis of next generation sequencing data including bulk RNA-Seq and spatial transcriptomics. She joins Genomics WA as a Genomics Technician, supporting the wet-lab team in the processing of samples for Genomics WA’s services.
